Denver, Age 10

My son Denver appears to be a normal ordinary 10 year old boy until he wants something to eat, gets sick, or his PHE levels are too high. When he wants something to eat it must be low protein therefore he can’t have meats, dairy, white flour, and etc. All of his food is ordered online through Cambrooke and PKU Perspectives. Without the assistance from DSCC we would not be able to afford the food but the income eligibility has been a struggle to stay within. Thankfully March of Dimes supplies the $60/can medicated formula or we wouldn’t be able to afford that as well as we go through a can every 2 days. By extending this bill it would take away some of the stress that we endure regarding being able to stay within financial guidelines for his food and just concentrate on my son’s health.

The Medical Nutrition Equity Act will provide key support for those Americans who rely on medical foods to survive and thrive.
